WAG’s 2015 Results

review

WAG had a busy year in 2015!  Our Spay/Neuter Program sterilized 140 pets of Walton County residents, either through subsidies for low-income pet owners, shelter sponsorships or promotions like Beat the Heat and Puppy Prevention.

Our Puppy Prevention program grew considerably this year- 29 female dogs and 152 puppies enrolled in 2015 – tripling the enrollment from 2014! Our thanks to the owners of these “mom” dogs for allowing WAG to help with the LAST litters!

WAG provided over 12,000 lbs of pet food to the Pet Food Pantry at F.IS.H., helping needy pet owners feed their cats/dogs. Our thanks to the many individuals and retailers who think of us and donate often!

Our Rescue/Adoption program took in 239 dogs/cats during 2015. The majority of these animals were taken to adoptions by hard-working WAG volunteers and found great homes. But we’re also fortunate to partner with other rescues groups who assist us in finding wonderful homes for these very deserving animals. We’re grateful to groups like Atlanta Humane Society, Burlington County Animal Alliance, The Rescue Express, and Pound Puppies ‘n Kittens for their support.

Our rescue dogs had many medical needs – heartworms, mange, eye injuries, among others, and required surgeries for intestinal blockages, severe wounds and orthopedic injuries. Every animal got the medical care they needed and recovered, no matter what the cost.

And for that we owe a debt of gratitude to our supporters. THANK YOU! WAG is nothing without the backing of individual donors and sponsors who provide the funding for our work to continue.
