End the Chaining of Dogs in Walton!

On March 11 the city of Monroe answered a call from concerned citizens when it passed an anti-tethering ordinance for dogs in the city. The practice of tethering or chaining dogs on a regular basis has been proven to be detrimental to the health and welfare of animals and more municipalities are enacting legislation to deal with the issue. Kudos to Monroe city officials for willingly tackling this topic.

A anti-tethering proposal was also brought before the Walton County Board of Commissioners in early March, but has yet to be acted on by the board. Let them know you opinion on the matter – contact your elected commissioner about this important issue!
