Rally Ho!

Say goodbye to Rally! We pulled this cutie from Walton and will be driving him tomorrow to meet a transport driver enroute to a great home in New Jersey, where his adopters are anxiously waiting.

Lucky boy!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FeFXC1kSsbk/UG-RBPVYLdI/AAAAAAAAAwk/m_qVUJSflbk/s1600/20122765Rally1web.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

A New Life

Here’s Gracie, fka Anna. She was in the shelter and scheduled for euthanasia. But lucky her her, someone saw her photo and fell in love. So we pulled Gracie from the shelter, had her spayed at Monroe Vet Clinic, and introduced her to her new “mom” Regina. Two very happy ladies!

A special thank-you to the sponsors who helped with Gracie’s vet bill – your support is what gave Gracie her
a new start in life!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LMob3vbwkgU/UFlDcU494eI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/mP1Z0LZx7fc/s1600/gracie.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

A Happy Girl

She was adopted into a great home with plenty of room to run and play. Even though her eyesight is bad, her owner reports that she gets along well, follows the other dogs around and loves to play. Looks like she got her Happy Ever After ending. Thanks to everyone who helped Daisy start her new life!

Tomatoes and Terriers

Catch us this weekend among the vegetables at Downtown Monroe’s Saturday Farmers Market on the courthouse square. The Farmers Market is becoming THE place to be on Saturday – lots of food, crafts, music and entertainment. We’ll be there from 8 am to 1 pm with sweet pups available for adoption.

Don’t miss it!

Shane goes home!

Shane found a new home. He’s been with us since February, but this lucky guy will now be living in Marietta with his “big brother” Bear, a Husky. Thanks to Mike and Meredith for giving Shane an opportunity for a wonderful home. Welcome to the WAG family!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-g5z6hwiAwWI/UBlAGt7LLEI/AAAAAAAAAvk/QH0U4TTvqdk/s1600/20120326Cheyenne1web.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

A new spot

Something new this weekend – we’ll be at the Winder Petsmart on Saturday, visiting and making new friends. Come out and see us. The dogs will be set-up inside the store, since it’s still blazing hot outside.

And don’t forget to stop by and see the cats at the Loganville Petsmart. Some very cute kittens are waiting for homes, plus a few awesome adults. Adoption fee is only $85 for a fully-vetted feline!

Whew, it’s Hot!

Wow – 108 degress predicted for Saturday. In spite of the sweat, we’ll be doing cat adoptions on Saturday, June 30 at the Loganville Petsmart. Melanie and the dogs will be going to a neighborhood block party at Park Place subdivision in Loganville on Saturday from 3 to 7 pm. She’ll have a tent, a pool of water and other things for cooling down, but we’ll watch how the dogs hold up and may have to make an early exit if the heat is too much. I know it’s already too much for me!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-srJGT0M_xbo/T-4PkGalpXI/AAAAAAAAAvU/oSDw7jtb2oU/s1600/Hot_Sunny_Day.JPG” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Can you help Daisy?
<div id=”yui_3_2_0_18_134069366486340″ style=”font-family: ‘times new roman’, ‘new york’, times, serif; font-size: 16px;”>
This is Daisy, a cattledog rescued on Monday from the Gwinnett shelter. She’s an older girl of about 8. Daisy is showing her age a bit – missing teeth, vision problems, but it none of that matters to her. She is overjoyed to be with people. We took her because such a sweetheart doesn’t deserve to die in the shelter.

But Daisy had some surprises. The vet discovered a life-threatening pyometra infection that required immediate surgery. While under anesthesia, Daisy was found to have severe dental disease – stage 4. She has ulcers in the roof of her mouth from the dental infection and most of her back teeth need to be…

Happy Ending

Congratulations to Scruffy and Lovie, two older dogs turned into the shelter together. We worried about their future, but fortunately a great home was found. They’ll spend the rest of their lives together!

Yesterday we transported them to the Petsmart in Conyers to meet their temporary foster. After about a week they’ll head up to their permanent home in Virginia Beach, VA. What a lucky twosome!

Help from Sharon Elementary

It’s been a great week – a couple of our dogs found new homes! No adoptions this weekend – we’re getting ready for the May 5 tent event at Conyers Petsmart.

Our pet food pantry is receiving some much-needed help from the National Elementary Honor Society and Beta Club at Sharon Elementary School. They’ll be running a pet food drive from now until May 16. The students at Sharon Elementary always collect lots of food. Our thank to Ms. Taylor for giving students the idea and helping them get started. We’re excited to see how they do this year!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1Zw8DEpE2EA/T5oeOu6z-nI/AAAAAAAAAtY/o5V4mngpjvA/s1600/SES.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Monroe Animal Care Hospital of Monroe and the Positive Reinforcement Club at Loganville Middle both recently gave us enough food to fill up the back of a minivan!
