A WAG Rescue Dog’s Life, Part I

A reality of rescue – we can only save as many animals as there is space to keep them. Foster homes are a blessing. We wish every dog could enjoy the love of a foster home and family during their wait for the perfect adopters.

But not all of our dogs are able to experience indoor home life. Although kennels aren’t the perfect alternative, it’s a better option than some of these dogs have ever had. Let’s take a peek at some of our accommodations.

WAG rescue dogs have several choices in kennel facilities: the Red Ruff Inn, the Westy, the Ritz Snarlton, the Terriott, or the Houndday Inn.

Our regular “rooms” have been outfitted to meet the needs of the…

Some wonderful young pet lovers

Meet some new friends of WAG – Catie Clack, Madison Sanders, Katie Abercrombie, Kennedy Martin and Breanna Groves – members of the Social Circle Girl Scouts who visited us at the Petsmart cattery on Saturday. They brought lots of handmade cat/dog toys, asked some questions about WAG and how they can help homeless pets. Watch for their team at the WAG ‘n Walk – they’re going to fundraise for the animals.

Great to meet these awesome young ladies!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AEtMyUOZstU/UghdMxhwUXI/AAAAAAAABNA/gwWmJkCIE50/s1600/S+circle+girl+scouts.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

New faces

Here are our most recent Walton rescues: Lindy, a cute black/white Chihuahua mix, and Andy, a handsome beagle boy. Both left the shelter this afternoon to be vaccinated, dewormed, and have a few relaxing days before being spayed/neutered and getting ready for adoption. We hope to find these guys wonderful homes very soon!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c9uX9z7JYU8/UgP6oTSrEVI/AAAAAAAABMo/ZdgEVpHoqiQ/s1600/20131864Lindy1web.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jco5tvRDfG8/UgP6rCDrUoI/AAAAAAAABMw/zCE6ZGOOajc/s1600/20131855Andy2web.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Kennel Sponsorships

Is your business looking for ways to help the community? Sponsor a WAG adoption kennel!

Some of our rescue dogs wait for their new homes in kennels made possible by the generosity of WAG donors. As any pet owner knows, lots of daily care is involved with keeping animals. From concrete floors to water buckets, chew toys and food, housing a dog involve maintenance and repair costs. Annual kennel sponsorships offer a great opportunity to send your business name out into the community. A plaque is affixed to “your” kennel and each new rescue dog offers thanks and public recognition.

Our kennel names mirror the finest human guest housing traditionalists:<span style=”font-family: inherit;”> <span style=”background-color: white; line-height: 18px;”>the Red Ruff Inn, the Westy, the Ritz…
