Calling all dog lovers!

Only a few weeks left before our trip to the Guilford, CT adoption event. More than two dozen dogs will go with us and need leashwalking practice and brush up on etiquette lessons before they go. Volunteers, raise your hands! The dogs love company and could use your help and support! Email wagvolunteer@gmail.com for more info and to get on the schedule to help dogs like Lady, below.

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RlrbQtW5N9U/Ua-QRevFmfI/AAAAAAAABGM/1ExEE9qeyUM/s1600/20130583Lady2web.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Yard sale success!

Thanks to everyone who donated or participated in our June 2 yard sale. We made $300 toward our rescue program – enough to provide veterinary care for some lucky dogs! We’ll be back with another yard sale this fall.

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dsCoLiTe9tY/Ua-PryS7HKI/AAAAAAAABGE/844SrI853JA/s1600/yard+sale.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Sammy Goes Home!

Congratulations to Sammy on his new family. Sammy, a German Shepherd mix, was skinny and tested heartworm positive when we rescued him from the shelter about 9 months ago. We treated his heartworms, fattened him up and told him we’d find him an awesome home. And it finally happened. The Boyd family was looking for a canine companion for their two boys, ages 8 and 10, and Sammy seemed like the perfect fit. So he’s finally out of the barn/kennel area and inside a home where he belongs. Yay Sammy!!!!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JZaKYlQzHTI/UaVbVdNcXFI/AAAAAAAABFs/WkQiiSH0WsE/s1600/SaMMY2.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>
<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>Here’s…

Park Place or Bust

We had a great time at the Park Place HOA Block Party in Loganville on Saturday, May 26. Our amazing volunteers Lacie and Sydney were there to help us out. One of our new rescued dogs, Bruno (Brett’s brother), helped out at the information table. Plus one of our rescued dogs, Chip, found his forever home – the icing on our weekend cake! Thanks to the Park Place residents for their hospitality.

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p3veDmUQ7bU/UaQv_bpZvkI/AAAAAAAABFU/rKfXsTBycWc/s1600/Park+Place+day.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_XMVGtD77Q4/UaQwDqa6N_I/AAAAAAAABFc/vflWo4ku9NY/s1600/Bruno.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Brett gets a bus ticket!

Here’s one of our newest rescues, Brett. The 6 month old Lab/Doberman mix was rescued along with his brother, Bruno, from the Walton County shelter. Brett is an enthusiastic young guy who, like many teenage dogs, needs a few doggy etiquette lessons. But he seems to be a very loving dog and we’re happy to offer him the chance at a new life.

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yc1PrFHRpp8/UZG83i-idWI/AAAAAAAABDc/SAoAU2tPtKQ/s1600/Brett.JPG” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>
<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aRVfM-uLNSY/UZG8__ue3yI/AAAAAAAABDk/7XXlIhE83Aw/s1600/Brett2.JPG” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>
<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

Duke’s Designer Kennel

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

So our boy Duke decided to redesign the front of his kennel to allow for easier in/out access. A wet WAG ‘n Walk?

Is Mother Nature a pet lover? The forecast makes us wonder..

But the WAG ‘n Walk is RAIN OR SHINE and there’s no rain date. If rain is heavy, perhaps the most exciting activity will be in the “Complaining Tent,” where event organizers stand around bemoaning the rotten weather.

So plan to grab an umbrella or rain poncho and let’s try to have some fun.

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2uvQnkBm_N4/UYMJsj0DE0I/AAAAAAAABCA/rLwabggy_EE/s1600/wet+dog.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

The Walton Tribune joins the party!

Welcome to our WAG ‘n Walk sponsor the Walton Tribune – the newspaper in the know in Walton County and beyond! They’re great pet lovers, too. Thanks so much for your support!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bS-mDreFOeg/UYMH9V3o0yI/AAAAAAAABBw/u4KAgRtGGmE/s1600/Walton+Tribune.JPG” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Some new furry faces

Say hello to our new rescues from Walton Co. Animal Control. Too cute!

Unfortunately Wendy, the scruffy girl below, has heartworms. Guess she spent a lot of time outside and wasn’t given heartworm preventative. So she’ll have to undergo treatment before she’s available for adoption. Sad for her, but we’ll get her well soon!

<div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”><a href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V46j-ckn2fk/UXIU3mKHm7I/AAAAAAAABAM/hFk4mRxz8XQ/s1600/wendy.jpg” imageanchor=”1″ style=”margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;”>

Lady is awfully sweet and has the cutest underbite.
