Congratulations to Sammy on his new family. Sammy, a German Shepherd mix, was skinny and tested heartworm positive when we rescued him from the shelter about 9 months ago. We treated his heartworms, fattened him up and told him we’d find him an awesome home. And it finally happened. The Boyd family was looking for a canine companion for their two boys, ages 8 and 10, and Sammy seemed like the perfect fit. So he’s finally out of the barn/kennel area and inside a home where he belongs. We had a great time at the Park Place HOA Block Party in Loganville on Saturday, May 26. Our amazing volunteers Lacie and Sydney were there to help us out. One of our new rescued dogs, Bruno (Brett’s brother), helped out at the information table. Plus one of our rescued dogs, Chip, found his forever home – the icing on our weekend cake! Here’s one of our newest rescues, Brett. The 6 month old Lab/Doberman mix was rescued along with his brother, Bruno, from the Walton County shelter. Brett is an enthusiastic young guy who, like many teenage dogs, needs a few doggy etiquette lessons.
